WHAT IS HAPPENING ON SITE? WEEK COMMENCING 03/06/19

WORK IS PROGRESSING WELL TO DELIVER THE SWAN SCHOOL - OXFORD'S FIRST NEW SECONDARY SCHOOL IN 60 YEARS - AS WELL AS A MUCH NEEDED NEW HOME FOR MEADOWBROOK COLLEGE

The site entrance off Marston Ferry Road is now complete, with the access road into the site also finished and in use for all site deliveries and construction traffic. All our contractors are instructed to use this access only and to avoid residential roads to the south of the site. We continue to marshal residential roads to ensure any construction traffic attempting to access via that route in error is turned back.

Piling works have been completed for Meadowbrook College's purpose built new building. Piling has also been completed for The Swan School's sports hall and work to create the foundations for the hall through the installation of capping beams is under way.

The first phase of demolition work on the old Harlow Centre building is now complete, and piling work is underway for the new school building for The Swan School.

Other ground works currently taking place on site include the installation of two retention tanks – one at what will be the new Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) south of the sports hall, and one adjacent to the new Meadowbrook Collage Building. These will control surface water run-off from the site.

We will continue to keep you updated on progress on site, and we are also investigating possibilities for a further Open Day on site following the success of the Archaeology Open Day in May.
