WHAT IS HAPPENING ON SITE? WEEK COMMENCING 08/07/19

DESPITE THE CHALLENGES PRESENTED BY A VERY WET JUNE WE HAVE MANAGED TO KEEP UP TO DATE WITH THE PROGRAMME, AND THE COMPLETION DATES FOR BOTH SWAN SCHOOL AND MEADOWBROOK COLLEGE REMAIN ON TRACK

We have completed the first phase of piling and the concrete foundations are now being constructed for both schools. Work is also under way to provide a sustainable urban drainage system known as SUDS. This is designed to control and limit the rate of discharge of the surface water system into the brook to the south of the site. During periods of heavy or extended rainfall this system will store water rather than releasing it into the local drainage system, thereby controlling and maintaining the discharge rate into the brook.

Construction of the grass sports pitch has started. This will need to be seeded by October this year to achieve a twelve-month growing cycle before first use.

Looking forward for the next few weeks we will be carrying out the following work.

  • Constructing the steel frame for the Swan sports block
  • Completing the foundations to Meadowbrook college
  • Continuing the construction of the foundations for The Swan School main block
  • Starting the concrete structure of The Swan School
